An internet connection is only required to initially download the charts and databases, and for weather updates. When you are flying no internet connection is required to use Naviator.

WiFi-only tablets are definitely supported!

Yes, new customers are granted a no-obligation 30 day free trial when they create an account.

Yes, all Naviator subscriptions can be shared between two Android devices.

How much disk space does Naviator need?

Most people only require 1-2 GB of disk space to use Naviator, however if you wish to install charts for the entire United States we recommend using a tablet with at least 32GB of disk space.

Why can't I see my altitude on the map screen?

You can! Simply long-tap in any of the four corners of the map screen to change the type of data field that is displayed there. You can choose from data fields such as:

  • GPS altitude

  • altitude above ground level (AGL)
  • bearing to the next waypoint

  • stopwatch timer (tap to start/stop; double-tap to reset)

Will Naviator work with my phone or tablet?

Probably. Naviator will work with most devices running Android 4.4 or higher. For the best experience we recommend tablets with at least a dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

If your tablet doesn't have an internal GPS receiver it is still possible to use Naviator as an EFB, however your location will not be shown on the charts.

Can I use an external Bluetooth GPS receiver?

Yes, Naviator directly supports all Bluetooth GPS receivers that output a standard NMEA 0183 data stream.

Can I use Naviator with my flight simulator?

Yes. Naviator works with Microsoft Flight Simulator, Prepar3D and X-Plane.

For Microsoft Flight Simulator and Prepar3D you will need to download and install the Naviator FSX connector to your PC.

For X-Plane, you will need to install the "X-Plane to GPS" app to your Android device.
